February 24, 2026 Update: Charlotte Observer Highlight & Baby Supply Drive Needs

Hi Neighbor,

Recently, Jen McGivney and The Charlotte Observer spotlighted how ourBRIDGE and other Charlotte organizations have continued showing up for families since November. You can read the full article below.

Like many in our city, we are still navigating the ripple effects of November’s raids and targeted attacks on our community.

As shared in the article, ourBRIDGE supported more than 2,300 families with bills and groceries with the help of our Charlotte community. We've done hundreds of critical referrals, hosted winter coat drives and pop-up stores providing free clothing and essentials. And still, beyond these tangible supports, many families are working to regain their financial footing and, most importantly, a sense of safety.

Right now, we’re coordinating drives for baby items like:

- Shoes

- Clothing

- Wipes

- Formula

- Diapers (any size appreciated, with sizes 5 & 6 needed most)

If you’d like to organize a drive or contribute items, please reach out to volunteering@joinourbridge.org

Drop off: M-F 10a-5p at the Charlotte is Home Center (3400 Shamrock Dr, Charlotte, NC 28215)

Safety and belonging don’t happen in isolation. They are built, and rebuilt, in community. Being a good neighbor matters now more than ever.

Thank you!

- The ourBRIDGE Team
