HOME is a feeling.

It’s a place where you feel relaxed, protected, and able to be your true self without fear. The Charlotte is Home Center aims to cultivate this sense of belonging and safety, providing immigrant neighbors and families with the tools and support necessary for economic stability and long-term physical and socio-emotional well-being.

This center embodies our commitment to love, justice, and dignity for all. It marks the beginning of a transformative journey for our city, laying the groundwork for a more inclusive and thriving region. The Formation of the Charlotte is Home Center

Amidst the challenges of COVID-19, ourBRIDGE for KIDS adapted its out-of-school programs to meet the intensified needs of immigrant and refugee families in Charlotte, NC.

Recognizing long standing resource gaps, we refocused our efforts to provide culturally and linguistically tailored wraparound support, all in families’ native languages. It quickly became apparent that many needs dealt with legal support, comprehensive healthcare, and culturally-responsive support as families navigate complex systems.

In 2021, Aldersgate Senior Living Community generously offered ourBRIDGE a 5838 sqft facility on Shamrock Drive for a nominal lease fee of $1 per year.

Met with this resource and the ever-expanding need we were seeing on a daily basis, we reached out to the Charlotte Community Health Clinic (CCHC) to start a comprehensive service hub, addressing essential service barriers for newcomers in Charlotte.

secular, equitable, and culturally responsive services

The Charlotte is Home Center will offer refugee and immigrant neighbors secular, equitable, and culturally responsive services through educational support, legal support, and comprehensive healthcare in their first language, under one roof.
